The perlon cords don't get rated for weight capacity, what needs to be considered is the weight capacity of the rail to which it connects, and the weight capacity of the picture hanging hooks used on the perlon cords.
Our zipper hooks, when used in conjunction with a perlon cord, will each hold 33 lbs in weight while our smartspring hooks will each hold 9 lbs in weight. If using multiple hooks on a single cord, each hook will bear its maximum weight capacity as long as the weight capacity of the rail is respected. You can always double up on hooks and cords to double the weight capacity, so 2 perlon cords and 2 zipper hooks will hold 66 lbs in weight. If using the perlon cords in conjunction with your own picture hanging hooks you will need to determine your hook's weight capacity.
The weight capacity for some of our rails is as follows: Cliprail 44 lbs/yd, Cliprail Max 55 lbs/yd, Minirail 55 lbs/yd, U-rail Pro 65 lbs/yd, Cliprail Pro 99 lbs/yd, Multirail 99 lbs/yd, Prorail Crown 99 lbs/yd, Prorail Flat 99 lbs/yd. If using the perlon cords in conjunction with your own picture hanging rails you will need to determine your rail's weight capacity.
In short, the perlon cord’s maximum weight capacity in conjunction with our rail systems would be 99 lbs/yard, as that is the maximum weight capacity of any of our rails that utilize the perlon cords. |
